Thou shalt read and be fearful! The devoted and the damned,
infidels and icons, goths and geeks--you will find them here as rock
stars, mercenaries, vampires, nerds, cowboys, and tooth fairies, and
all of them will pay for their sins.
Horrors of the Holy is written by Staci Layne Wilson, the eclectic author whose short stories have appeared in the books, Horses & Their Women (Little, Brown 1994), Seductions: Tales of Erotic Persuasion (Dutton, 1999), Nasty Snips (Teague, 1999), and I Am Dragon (Eternity Press, 2000). Ms. Wilson's fiction and non-fiction has also been featured in magazines all over the world.
"Wilson's got imagination, boldness, and an elastic, chameleon-like
voice of her own that comes right at you with her 'Tales from the
Crypt' brand of blunt and brutal horror!"
"Horrors of the Holy is a book of no-nonsense horror stories.
If you're like me and think Stephen King should shut up and tell
the freakin' story already, you'll like Staci Layne Wilson's
hit-the-ground-running style of writing. Within a very few words,
Wilson's story is off and running, no messing around, and the end
is hard-hitting and often unexpected. This is not to say her style
is not 'literate.' She possesses that all-too-rare quality of being
able to write well and effectively."
"Horrors of the Holy is whipped together by a consistently
competent and quirky writing style and a serious helping of the
bizarrely humorous. It's just a little absurd . . . and different
enough from the horror norm to keep the pages turning. Quickly."
"Horrors of the Holy is entertaining throughout. Wilson
displays a knack for the genre and is definitely a writer to watch
for." | ||||||||||
