Wicked Hollow
Wicked Hollow, Horror for Your Pocket, is a pocketsize magazine of horror fiction, poetry, and art released quarterly by Blindside Publishing. It is designed especially to fit in your pocket, convenient for any spare moment in which you might like to read. Carry it around with you, sit on it, pin it behind your cellular phone, stick it inside your palm pilot, wherever you want it, then, when time finally presents itself, read. No matter Wicked Hollow is literature, poetry, and art for all circumstances, whether you live in New York City or you live in rural Montana. Horror is not fantasy, or science fiction, or outlandish romance. Horror is life. Horror is drama. And now it fits in your pocket.

The first issue was published in January 2001. From its contents, one story was recommended for a Stoker Award, one illustration selected for publication in Spectrum 9, available in bookstores nationwide October 2002, and there's a buzz that one poem may be nominated for a Rhysling Award. All this for only $3, plus plenty of other fantastic, acclaimed contents. Yea, this is Wicked Hollow.

Forever Lovers
"I think of songs as little demigods floating through the ether, invisible but potent entities that bring order to the chaos of life by flagging its precious moments . . . The link between music and memory is universal to the human experience, and that's especially true of that one song we hold closest to our heart, the one that evokes our strongest memories and emotions."

So says Mark, a young lover crossed by Death and subsequently raped of his wife Sarah. But Music is a powerful entity, an art form far more potent than any other, an ever-evolving creature of its own design. For Mark and Sarah, it shows itself as "Forever Lovers," the song played at their wedding to which they first danced, man and wife. But neither can know how prophetic these words, and neither, Mark especially, can prepare themselves for the motivations it will catalyze.

Except Dr. William Drake, who has prepared himself for a career-changing event of this caliber his entire life and will follow-up on it at anyone's expense, perhaps even his own.

A 20k word novella by Shawn James with cover photography by Nathan Combs and interior art by award-winning Russell Dickerson. Coming in November 2002 from Blindside Publishing.

Vacancy
Vacancy, the webzine of spectral murmurings, is an online magazine of supernatural poetry and fiction. What separates Vacancy from the other webzines scattered about the 'net is the format in which it is published: strictly in streaming RealAudio. No downloads, no text, no straining eyes, all you need is a sound card, speakers, and the free software for RealAudio installed on your computer. Hear the work precisely as it was meant to be heard, generally read by its own creator.

Vacancy has generated genuine interest. Don't miss out on this interesting venture. Work has appeared from Bruce Boston, Charlee Jacob, S.C. Virtes, David C. Kopaska-Merkel, Terry Hickman, Richard Wright, Christina Sng, and others. There is also an audio presentation to explain the magazine's theme. Would you believe us if we said it was a true story?
