       Vacancy is an audio magazine published on the web with no set publication schedule set as yet. It is preferred all potential contributors be able to supply their own audio clips. You will need a sound card and a microphone, which, if not already owned, can be purchased for around $10 at a local electronics or office supply store. Cassettes will be accepted from contributors who don't have the capability to record their voice through their computers, although the computer method is preferred to protect loss of sound quality. Contributors who are unable to record their own voice files will still be considered, but we'll be up front: it'll be a harder placement as a consequence. We apologize for this, but what we're attempting to accomplish and the vision we have set forth for ourselves can only be accomplished through certain means.
       All contributions accepted by Vacancy will be published stricly as audio. No text versions will be available. All audio will be published as streaming RealAudio, which is far easier on listeners without high speed internet connections. The software for listening to RealAudio files is by default loaded onto most computers, or can be downloaded for free from this web link.
       Vacancy, at this time, does not plan to archive published work, although stellar performances may be kept online for permanent listening unless the author/poet expresses a keen disinterest.
       Beyond its bodily vehicle, Vacancy is an online magazine of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. Refer to each designated section below for further insight into what Vacancy would like to see for each.
